Grim Fandango Remastered coming to the Switch

Something's rotten in the land of the dead, and you're being played for a sucker. Meet Manny Calavera, travel agent at the Department of Death. He sells luxury packages to souls on their four-year journey to eternal rest. But there's trouble in paradise. Help Manny untangle himself from a conspiracy that threatens his very salvation.

One of the most acclaimed adventure games of all time is now back, better than ever. Grim Fandango's epic story of four years in the life (or death) of Manny Calavera, travel agent to the dead, has been remastered to look, sound, and control even better than when it won GameSpot's Game of the Year award upon its original launch. Grim Fandango still stands as a classic of the genre, with unforgettable characters and unique combination of film noir and Mexican folklore.

Remastered version includes

Repainted, hi-res character textures
New, dynamic lighting
Classic score re-recorded with a full live orchestra
Over 2 hours of exclusive developer commentary

I flat out could not believe my eyes when I saw this headline.
I buy a console for the games I want to play, especially the exclusives. They're the reason why I put my PS$ Pro on my credit card,
I wanted the ability to play TLoU:RM, FF7:Remake, and Grim Fandango:RM....regrettably I have still not bought Grim Fandango:RM on my PS4 (it's on my wish-list Smile) Now that it appears Grim Fandango Remaster is coming to Switch, I will have options and a decision.Good day for Switch gamers, grab this game when it comes out! Grim Fandango is one of gaming's most celebrated titles.

I hope it will get a retail release. A shame that Double Fine games don't get that much retail releases. Broken Age got one from LRG but there are so many other games from Double Fine what should get retail releases.

The Cave, Stacking, Day of the Tentacle, Costume Quest, Massive Chalice, Headlander

That's awesome. Such a great adventure game. Be prepared to get stuck for those who never played it :p.

THAT is what should have been part of Nintendo's E3 Direct. F***sake, what's wrong with them, devoting like half an hour to Smash, and not talking about that kind of support? I love Grim Fandango, so this will be mine when it comes to Switch.

No kidding. And they glossed over Dragonball too. Weird choices...

And Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition! We learned that was coming from the Microsoft Presentation, and it was confirmed for Switch too... but nowhere in the E3 Direct!! And those titles that WERE in the Direct, were mostly titles we already knew were coming, like Monster Hunter,The World Ends With Youor Dark Souls... It's like they're completely clueless. The things we should have been told about from Nintendo themselves were not touched upon, and those things we didn't need being told again were.

No wonder their share price at the Japanese stock market plummeted after the presentation. There is support there for the Switch, but they're not even advertising it. Maybe there could be even more, sure, but what is there isn't being prominently showcased when it definitely should.

IMHO They focused on the title that would sell the most millions of units and doubled down on it.

Now THAT would have been a great surprise announcement. A true recognized classic that needs exposure. Why was it not in the direct ?
