Bloomberg Businessweek's next issue is focusing on Nintendo's turnaround with the Switch, as well as the company's future. The feature was worthy of making Bloomberg Businessweek's cover, as you can see above. The feature itself doesn't offer too much in the way of new content, but it does contain a few choice snippets from Nintendo bigwigs.
“We think of the second year (of Switch) and beyond as being especially important. We have to start thinking about how to plan our game releases in order to attract the interest of our audiences worldwide.”
“I’m not young myself, but as a developer working on some of these 30-year franchises, one thing that I do recognize is that just because it’s been around for 30 years doesn’t mean that’s necessarily a strength on its own. What you need are fresh ideas. You need young people with interesting takes.”
“It is a high-risk business, so there will be times when business is good and times when business is bad. But I want to manage the company in a way that keeps us from shifting between joy and despair.”
