Mega Man: Fully Charged - debut trailer

Coming August 3rd to the Cartoon Network App (August 5th TV broadcast starting every Sunday at 6:30 a.m. ET/PT), Mega Man: Fully Charged stars Aki Light, a normal, upbeat, schoolboy robot with nano-core technology that allows him to transform into the mega-powered hero Mega Man! With his Mega Buster arm cannon and iconic helmet, Mega Man battles the wickedest villains Silicon City has to offer. Beloved characters, such as Mega Man’s robotic dog, Rush, will return – while new characters, like Mega Mini™ and Suna Light, will make their debut!

I mean, I already know how people are going to react to this trailer. I imagine this show is going to have a rough time winning over Mega Man fans. I'm definitely down to give it a shot, but I wouldn't say I'm super excited about it.

I'm 36 and that was painful.

The art style makes me cringe so hard, but I'll still be open-minded and give it a shot.
Maybe the va won't be a total disappointment...
I mean, MM's va wasn't too bad.

Its on at 6am on sunday.. CN already sent it to die.

Maybe some farmer kids will watch it when they're too sick to do their daily tasks... and tweakers on methamphetamine.

I just want to know why robots have to go to school.
Seriously
Why do robots go to school in this interpretation of the Mega Man universe?
Why aren't they, you know, PROGRAMMED

But school is about more than just learning facts. Now I doubt it will be explained exactly this way, but if a robot needs to socially integrate into society, it would probably be easiest to create a neural network, you know, a learning computer, and then throw it into real-life situations to have it learn what the proper responses are, and to pick up on subtle-but-hard-to-program things like cultural and social norms.

Or, you know, it's a show geared towards kids, and they think having school situations makes the main character more relatable. That's more likely.

That's as good an explanation as any. Even in the canon, Rock was shown to have pretty complex emotions and "a strong sense of justice", and even Bass had a change of heart about Dr. Wily.

That description sounds like a summarized version of Whatever Happened to... Robot Jones?

Not a fan of Mega Man's design but everything else looks okay. Probably not gonna watch this because nothing about it really grabs my attention. With that being said, I hope this show does appeal to the younger generations and get them interested in the blue bomber. Maybe this iteration could be an unlockable skin in Mega Man 11? If the show is successful, that would seem like a no brainer to bring kids to the new game.

Ugh...if he says "It's time to go mega!" one more time in that trailer I'll lose one too many brain cells.

It's time to MEGA! (In smash).

Aaaaand its a flop! Not gonna bother and not gonna care either.

Why does your face look like bad CG?!

I honestly don't mind the look and proportions of Mega Man himself, by why did he have to be a kid? A human kind, no less.

Also, the animation is terrible and the lighting model they went with makes everything look cheap, like a cartoon from 10 years ago.

I don't have a problem with the look, but the animation feels very subpar. I was going in with an open mind, but if the animation here is representative, it'll be poor. Sad
