Blizzard would love to see Diablo represented in Smash Bros. Ultimate, want Bowser and Ganon in Blizzard games

The Smash Bros. series is all about bringing together gaming's biggest and best franchises and cramming into a single experience. Castlevania is getting some representation this time around, but what other franchises could be on the way? If Blizzard had their way, Diablo would get the call up. Here's what Blizzard senior producer Pete Stilwell had to say in a Game Informer interview.

"Personally, yeah, I'd love to have Diablo. That to me is the immediate one. Then if we had over time, eventually the heroes, go through all of them...or you could go really awesome and only have Deckard Cain."

On the flip-side, Stilwell and associate producer Matt Cederquist had some ideas on what Nintendo characters they'd like to bring over to their own games.

MC: "Bowser, Bowser would be a sweet dungeon boss."

PS: "Pig Ganon would be cool. I feel like we're mostly naming villains, but there's a lot of classic Nintendo villains. Pretty much any of them would be great."

Start using Smash Bros as leverage, Nintendo! "You want your character in Smash Bros.? Bring more of your games to Switch, then we'll talk."

A bit late for that with Square Enix and Cloud. Why buy the cow when you get the milk for free?

Cloud has no real history with Nintendo, has never appeared on a Nintendo home console, only a few handheld spin-offs as far as I'm aware and in my eyes he's a Sony mascot. What do we get in return for his appearance in Smash Bros? How's the Final Fantasy VII Remake coming along on Switch? Yyyaaaaa.......!

The Final Fantasy 7 Remake won't be on Switch, PS4, or Xbox One, given how well the progress is going. We'll see how things are going with the generation of consoles after that.

I could see the Lost Vikings in Smash.

I don't think that there's a single company on earth that wouldn't want their mascots in smash. Not counting SEGA that is, but that's just because they were being SEGA and realized how stupid they were.

Not a chance do they deserve a place in Smash Bros. There's already enough non deserving 3rd party characters in Ultimate as it is.

This is exactly what I was afraid of when they started putting characters like Snake in, and then Cloud, etc.

That they were just gonna start eventually throwing ANYONE in Smash, no matter whether they had some legit history with Nintendo or not.
