GN Version 5.0

The year is 2084. If you somehow survived the Nanophage, odds are you were killed in the War. Those who live have turned to drugs, VR, neural implants— anything to distract themselves from this new reality. You are Daniel Lazarski, an elite neural detective known as an Observer, and part of a corporate-funded police unit whose purpose is to hack and invade suspects’ minds. In this future, anything you think, feel, or remember can be used against you in a court of law.

When you receive a mysterious message from your estranged son, a high-level engineer for the almighty Chiron Corporation, you journey to the seedy Class C slums of Krakow to investigate. But as you hack into the unstable minds of criminals and victims to look for clues, you are forced to relive their darkest fears. How far will you go to discover the truth?

With cyberpunk legend Rutger Hauer (Blade Runner) as Detective Lazarski, >observer_ is a first-person psychological horror story that focuses on a dark, dystopian setting. Developed by Bloober Team, the creators of Layers of Fear, >observer_ is a horror experience meant for mature audiences. What you see will disturb you.

History
The first concept for the setting of >observer_ was introduced shortly before we launched the full version of Layers of Fear, somewhere at the end of 2015. The vision of a Cyberpunk horror game resonated well with the whole team immidiately. We wanted to give a unique flavour to our world, which is why we brought the game to Eastern-Europe, complete with the architecture, pop-culture, historical and political references from this part of the world. As a Polish developer we wanted to show some familiarity to Slavic people, but also wanted to keep the universe fresh, almost oriental to Western Europe and Americas.

The first presentation of the game was an exclusive appearence during 2016's PC Gaming Show (part of E3), where we showed a teaser trailer and a gameplay trailer recorded in-engine. The reception was extremely pleasing and the game's punchline: "What would you do, if your fears got hacked", stirred the imagination of journalists and gamers alike.

We have submitted >observer_ for the Game Connection Europe Awards where it was nominated for three awards: Best Console/PC Hardcore, Best Hardcore Game, Most Creative & Original.

In january 2017 we announced the partnership with Aspyr Media, who yet again became our publisher.

The game's release date for August 15th 2017 has been supported by the announcement of two renown actors: Rutger Hauer (Daniel Lazarski) of Blade Runner fame and Arkadiusz Jakubik (Janus) - one of the most known Polish actors of our time.
