Dragon Quest XI on Switch officially titled Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age S

Here we go, we're finally getting some concrete details on Dragon Quest XI on Switch! Square-Enix has revealed that the game will be called Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age S, with the 'S' standing for “Switch,” “Special,” “Shaberu” (Speaking) and Seiyuu (Voice Actor).” Unfortunately, that's the only tidbit we got, as well as the reiteration that development on this version will take quite some time.

I still have a glimmer of hope that the Nintendo 3DS exclusive features will make its way to the Nintendo Switch version since Yuji Horii mentioned that "Special" is one of the meanings of "S".

Hopefully one of the other meanings isn’t “s” for “short bus”. There is that pocket edition Final Fantasy, after all.

Yeah, sure! Make a version that's even bellow the 3DS version on Switch. Neh!

Switch and special and talk and VA? It's a visual novel version! Smile

That subtitle is appropriate as it feels like the game is an echo way off in the distance, that it's elusive because we haven't seen so much as a Switch screenshot and that it's taking an age to release. The "S" stands for Spectre because that's what it is until we see it on Switch.
