Devolver Digital on the deep story of Pikuniku, exclusivity of GRIS, the release date for My Friend Pedro, and future Switch support

GN Version 5.0

Devolver Digital has three titles on their way to the Switch, and each one looks pretty damn amazing. In an interview with Switchaboo, Devolver's Graeme Struthers talks about these three titles, and shares a new bit of info on each.

First up is Pikuniku, which certainly looks like a goofy, silly platformer. The thing is, the game is actually quite a bit deeper than that.

Yeah it is, and again I like how the developer has gone for a simple set of mechanics, and there isn’t obviously a huge amount of dialogue but it also tells quite a deep story. So that’s really interesting that they’ve managed to combine a visually minimalist game and not a great deal of explanation, but somehow you just get it. It’s a really cool design.

Next up is GRIS, a game that's definitely near the top of my most-wanted list for this year. We know the game is heading to both PC and Switch, but Devolver wants people to know that this is a Switch console exclusive. This isn't a matter of being a timed exclusive. The only console you'll ever be able to grab the game on is Switch.

...we just think that that’s the right place for it to be, and that’s coming out I think December, either the 4th, 5th of 6th.

Finally is My Friend Pedro, which is all about insane action, over-the-top violence, and weird humor. Just when can we hope to get our hands on this one?

I think that’s headed towards May next year, somewhere around there.

Those are the three titles Devolver is bringing to Switch in the near future, but could their be more from the publisher? Graeme makes a point to say that there are indeed more games coming from the company, but we don't get details on what those are, or when to expect them.
