GN Version 5.0

Frozenbyte has been quite a supporter of the Switch so far, and more content is on the way. We recently learned that all three Trine games were coming to Switch, with the first game released last week. With three more Trine games on the way, including the brand-new Trine 4, Frozenbyte certainly has their hands full. In an interview with Miketendo64, Frozenbyte’s Kai Tuovinen talked more about these ports, as well as the potential for sequels to other titles.

On Trine 2 and 3 enhancements for Switch

We’re doing ports that have all the features of the latest PC versions, and making sure they’re the best possible. Not planning any new features though.

On multiplayer components in Trine 2 and 3

Yes, local, local wireless and online multiplayer.

On the team behind the Trine 2 and 3 ports

We’re partnering with Blitworks on the ports, so our development team gets to focus on Trine 4 fully.

On the potential for sequels to Has-Been Heroes and Nine Parchments

Both Has-Been Heroes and Nine Parchments have done really well on Switch. We don’t have plans for sequels right now as we’re quite busy with several ongoing projects.
