Nintendo Switch Online NES app updates with the already-confirmed Blaster Master and Zelda II, plus Ghosts ‘n Goblins SP and Ninja Gaiden SP

You didn't think Nintendo was going to update their Switch Online NES app with just the previously-announced games, did you? That's never how Nintendo rolls! Along with Zelda II and Blaster Master, the app has also been updated with Ghosts ‘n Goblins SP and Ninja Gaiden SP.

Nintendo Entertainment System – Nintendo Switch Online has been updated with two new games this month in Blaster Master and Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. But, as with previous months, Nintendo has thrown in two extra surprises.

Ghosts ‘n Goblins SP

Welcome to the extremely difficult stage 6. Have fun! You’ll start from stage 6 in this special version of Ghosts ‘n Goblins, and you’re armed with the rapid-fire and easy-to-use dagger.

The Great Demon Lord awaits you just ahead. Can you stand the challenge? There is no need to fear as you have one more strong weapon to use: Suspend Points. But once you beat him, if you want the true ending, you’ll need to beat the game all over again!

Ninja Gaiden SP

Dragon Ninja versus the demon! This special version of Ninja Gaiden starts you right before the climax of stage 6-4. With the memories of his father Ken Hayabusa sworn friend Walter Smith to guide him, Ryu faces the final fight as a true Dragon Ninja.

Fight the masked devil Jaquio, Guardia de Mieux, who has awoken from his 700-year slumber. An emotional finale awaits if you manage to defeat all three of the demon’s forms!

Thanks to Sligeach_eire for the heads up!

Honestly, not that much. And I'm still disappointed!

Ghosts 'n Goblins SP? Now THERE is a game where I'd be happy to play the SP version.

sadly it's only the end of round 1 and not round 2. It would have been better if they started you off with the level select code entered already. Ninja Gaiden SP is actually pretty cool though, since it's a boss rush that you can basically do infinitely without having to go back to 6-1, by simply resetting the game

I ALMOST finished this game...Just almost. But that makes me think that if I want the SP version or should I g back to my childhood and finish the bastard s should be! First world problems.

Two NES roms. Two level-skip mods to NES roms. Yawn.

What exactly were you expecting from the Nintendo Switch Online NES app?

There's so much more they could have done with SP versions. Different levels, different enemy placements, randomising certain things (How awesome would Zelda be with all the tiles shuffled?), simultaneous co-op...

I agree with this, like Ghosts 'N Goblins, how about letting us take slightly more hits before dieing, more armor, more health, slightly slower enemies . . . .

Make sure you check out the Famicom app. They added Joy Mech Fight. It's actually a fun game and part of Nintendo's history like Devil World.
