Pokemon GO dataminers discover evidence of new gender-based evolution mechanic

We've already talked about the latest update rolling out for Pokemon GO, and while it includes a host of new features, dataminers have found evidence of something else to be added down the road.

According to the data, it appears that a new mechanic is coming that would allow the game to trigger certain gender-based evolutions. There are certain Pokemon that can evolve into something different based on gender, and the addition of this new mechanic would allow Pokemon GO users to determine which evolution they'll get. When this feature will actually be activated remains to be seen.
