Of course it’s an all new game, what do you think it would be when they had to completely rework it without touch controls in mind and add a bunch of new stuff?

Yay for a date! Boo that once again like most Nintendo releases its at the very end of the month...

Ohhh I'm so ready for this.

Usually new hardware launches with some sort of software, this could be a guess of the smaller Switch’s date since the “late June” reports are flying everywhere lately.

After E3... rats. I was hoping for more information sooner, possibly even a dedicated Nintendo Direct.

I know we've known since the reveal in the recent Direct, but I kind of find it weird timing for the game's release, then again it's not an all new game, despite the title. I thought it might be a Christmas title.

You silly. It's just an advanced port!

Game Boy Advance Mario Maker with the SMA style would be cool not gonna lie. I'd especially love if those art styles were in this game

I would actually get the game for a GB version alone.

I won't be making the same mistake that I did on Wii U and get the physical version of this. I will be pre-ordering this the minute it goes live on the eShop. Who's with me?

Totes McGoats. Mario Maker is best installed right on your system.

Im all digital so I will be pre-loading ASAP. Team Sonic Racing and Assassins Creed 3 I gotta pre-load as well. Too many Switch games coming out that I want. I simply dont have the time to play all these games. My backlog is huge. But I LOVE collecting games on Switch.

As long as they don't pack in an artbook or something like last time, I'll probably get digital too

It's one of those games that are just perfect for downloading.

Looking forward to this very much. I'm hoping there are more art styles other than the 3D Land/World style we've seen. I'm also hoping for a World/Map editor. Where you could create secrets and branching paths like SMB3/SMW. That would be very cool.

What I'd also love to see are blocks of levels/worlds released every few weeks that were made by Nintendo level designers themselves. Between NSMBU and this, I don't think we'll get a standalone side-scrolling / 2D Mario platform on Switch so having Nintendo provide frequent support for SMM2 would be ideal.

then again it's not an all new game

Christ give it a rest. Nothing is an "all new game" to you. Every sequel is a "glorified port" in your eyes.

If I were in charge of marketing, I'd have called it Super Mario Maker 2.0. Like all good 2.0 versions of software, it includes everything the previous version did plus more content and lots of good tweaks.

Nintendo's liking this no Direct approach. It's interesting.

Can this be played in dock mode?
