GN Version 5.0

Just the other day, we shared a message from Minecraft's community manager about the Switch version. The team is aware that some players are having trouble with freezing/glitches, and they're working to figure out just what's up. It appears the team's internal testing isn't enough to lock down the solution, and they're turning to those currently experiencing problems to share details. Check out the community manager's full post below.

On Friday afternoon we played an internal 1.12 build and a fellow team member joined me on a Xbox One (I was the host). We played for over an hour on creative in a busy village with a lake full of fish nearby. I tried a number of different activities & maintained around 60 FPS the whole time. No crashes, no lag, hurray!

Now, we still have more testing to do but I wanted to give an update. It would really help if anyone who is experiencing issues with performance on Minecraft to comment and let us know the following:

If you’re playing on a cartridge version or all digital version

If you have any mods/resource packs/texture packs installed (and if so, please list)

Approximate number of how many worlds you have saved on your Switch

If you’re playing singleplayer, multiplayer w/you joining another person’s world, multiplayer w/someone else joining your world, or playing on Realms

What is around you and/or what you are doing when you notice the most lag

Anything else you think might be helpful info for us

Thanks so much, everyone! We really appreciate all your help.

If you have any insight, you can share your details in this post.
