Devil May Cry on Switch is the same version featured in the HD Collection, no word on other Devil May Cry games hitting Switch

Once again, good news and bad news

As always with Capcom, it's time for some good news, bad news. Let's tackle the good news first.

Capcom has confirmed that Devil May Cry on Switch will be the exact same version that was included in the Devil May Cry HD Collection on other platforms. That means we're getting the remastered adventure, rather than just a port of the original.

Now let's take a look at the bad news. Are you hoping Capcom brings over the other Devil May Cry games featured in the HD Collection? Here's a statement Capcom provided USGamer on that matter.

"Capcom is focused on bringing the original Devil May Cry experience for the first time to a Nintendo system. No other titles have been announced."

Capcom need to say how much they are charging for just this 1 game. The HD Collection can be bought for £15, and that has the first 3 games. The HD Collection is 12GB in size, so there's no reason why this can't get a physical version on Switch, apart from stinginess and trying to milk Switch customers.

As expected it seems they're sticking to the base game to see if the franchise even has an audience on Nintendo systems due to being totally foreign territory. You'd think they'd go with DMC4SE as a standalone port game, but It makes sense for them to start with this one. I for one am eager to jump into this series with the port if it's $30 or under.

$30 for just one old game!? Are you mad? You can buy the HD Collection on the PlayStation Store for €18 and that's a Trilogy of games as opposed to just one on Switch. I bet they charge at least €20 for this.

If it's digital only they will only get $15 at most from me. Guilty Gear is $15, why not DMC? I'm gonna get it but the price needs to be fair.

Can't wait to spend as much as the entire trilogy on one digital only game

Capcom being Capcom and gotta hit that 20 limit

Yeah Im gonna stop buying Capcom ports on Switch. At first I was like "Capcom is testing the waters obviously if a few of these ports sale they will develop original and new titles for Switch!" But now its like "Obviously Capcom doesnt give a shit and will port anything to make a quick easy buck and still say its to "test the Switch waters" fuck outta here Capcom! I hope everyone stops buying these overpriced ports. I'd rather have no support then half-assed support.

If you want Capcom to stop abusing you, you pretty much have to abuse Capcom.

Sony/Xbox fans sending nonstop abuse at Capcom when they showed strong Wii and Wii U support is what got them to change sides in a hurry.

Nintendo fans are too good a fanbase for their own good.

Makes me laugh when people start to foolishly tout Capcom has having made a comeback in 2018-2019 with a slew of decent to okay titles. Mega Man 11 is severely overrated, and just because they made a string of games people liked doesn't suddenly excuse their past transgressions. Capcom has always been a scumbag company since inception, it's insane the amount of bullshit they have pulled off over the years that people conveniently forget when it suits them. Wait until they start getting complacent again.

And let's not devolve into belligerent behavior just to get their respect. Just ignore them. Why stoop to the level of other fanbases just to get what we desire? Capcom is a cooked goose.

Capcom is great until you realize all their best games were made by Clover and Suda 51.

Another way to gauge their best games is looking for the ones they can't stop rereleasing.

Fully expect it’ll be £30 just like Resi 4/1/0.

Although, Okami HD was £16 which is just about the sweet spot for HD ports of older games. Resident Evil Revelations was about the same price I think too. I don’t mind paying that, especially if it gets the kind of attention they gave to Okami- runs great both handheld and docked, really good use of HD rumble and nice gyro and touch controls. Could go either way but given the coming Resi ports and Phoenix Wright are all £30 I expect this’ll follow suit- that, or they’re trying to see how much they can get away charging Switch owners for old games and will price this accordingly. Strongly urge people not to pay full price for those Resident Evil games and deny Capcom from taking them for a ride.

I'm going the Okami HD route. $15 on sale or I'll pass til it is.

I'll just buy Monster Hunter games from you Capcom and nothing else, it's clear that you don't want my money nor respect me and many others who supported you during the 3ds era

Dont support them at all. Just pirate or buy used. Been doing that for years with capcom ea activision ubisoft 2k.....sad how big this list is getting.

The HD collection has 2 games so as long as this comes out to half of whatever that cost it's basically the same price.

Spoiler

Gotta test those waters eh Crapcom?
