Nintendo addresses Switch Mini rumors, explains why they won't confirm/deny

Nothing to announce, of course

Nintendo must be so tired of Switch Mini rumors by now. The question once again came up during their most recent shareholders meeting. Surprisingly enough, Nintendo offered up their most verbose statement on the matter yet.

"We acknowledge that there have been reports [about this]. Answering to rumors and speculations would end up stealing surprises from our customers and also be unprofitable to all of our shareholders, so we have no answer to that. As a general theory, we are always performing development of new hardware."

As most will note, it's not a flat-out denial. I think that in and of itself speaks volumes.

That was an oddly non-Nintendo answer. It's like they just said "wait for it. It's coming sooner than you think!"

Hey guys, I've been hearing rumors that there's a Switch Medium in development. It's a medium-sized Switch that is portable, hooks into a dock, and plays all the same games the regular Switch does. But Nintendo has nothing to say about this rumor so it hasn't been confirmed yet.

It's definitely not for sure not happening probably!

Switch Mini just makes so much sense with a Pokémon and Animal Crossing game coming soon. I'd be surprised if the rumors weren't true at this point.

I'm glad they were willing to give the reason (no matter how obvious it is) they don't say and not their normal "We don't comment on rumors and speculation" only. Its not at all surprising why they don't comment, but the fact that people keep asking the questions means that not everyone quite gets it yet.

(Updated 1 time)

I don't like the name Switch Mini. But what else could they call it?

Switch Lite (honor of DS lite)
Switch XS (for extra small opposite DS XL)
Switch U ( u for "un"-switch )
Switch Micro (gameboy micro)
Switch Blade (a thinner sexier switch )
Switch Swatch (with crazy colors and atomic purple control pad)

Oh good. Now we all can be assured that they are going to do a revision.
