The world of Splatoon comes to Tetris® 99 in the 5th MAXIMUS CUP event

Keep your Tetris® 99 game fresh by competing in this weekend’s Tetris 99 5th MAXIMUS CUP event! If you earn 100 event points by playing matches during the event period, you will unlock an in-game theme inspired by the Splatoon games!

The free event runs from 12 a.m. PT on July 12 to 11:59 p.m. PT on July 15. If you’re a Nintendo Switch Online member, you just have to play the Tetris 99 online mode during the event period. A greater number of event points are earned the higher you place after each match, and once 100 event points are reached, the new Splatoon theme for your Tetris 99 game is unlocked!

The Tetris 99 digital game includes an online mode that is a special offer for Nintendo Switch Online members*. In the game, 99 players compete together until only one is left standing. Recently, the paid Big Block DLC added two new modes to the game, both of which can be played offline. (The full version of the game is required to use the DLC; DLC sold separately.)
