SEGA is certainly taking an interesting approach with Olympic Games Tokyo 2020: The Official Video Game. It's more simulation than Mario & Sonic, but it's not exactly realistic. Case in point, the new costumes SEGA revealed for the game, which definitely don't fall in with what you'd expect to see athletes wearing when they're participating! You can check out more costume screens here.

SEGA has also confirmed that Olympic 2020 mascot Miraitowa is going to be playable in the game. There are actually two mascot's for the 2020 Olympics, so it's likely the other will be revealed playable in the near future.

Finally, SEGA has made a big change to the demo for Olympic Games Tokyo 2020: The Official Video Game. The demo, which is available in Japan right now, was originally supposed to stop being distributed on July 17th, 2019. SEGA has now announced that they've changed the date, and moved it all the way to Sept. 19th, 2019.
