Switch revision with better battery life now available in the states, and there's speculation about the Joy-Con being revamped

It wouldn't be a bad decision!

GN Version 5.0

Nintendo's revised Switch with better battery life is now out in the wild here in North America. Multiple people have confirmed that they've picked a unit up, including DreamcastGuy. It's his mention of the purchase in particular that leads to some interesting discussion of the Joy-Con included with this revised Switch.

According to DreamcastGuy, there's something a bit different about the Joy-Con on this new unit as compared to the originals. Apparently they feel like they're made of a slightly different material, but that's not confirmed just yet. With Nintendo now offering to replace Joy-Con experiencing the joystick drift issue, it wouldn't be surprising to see Nintendo use revamped Joy-Con with this new Switch as well.

Hopefully we'll get some concrete analysis of the Joy-Con soon to see if they really are different, or it's just a case of a fresh set of Joy-Con versus ones that have been worn in.
