GN Version 5.0

Yesterday gave us the wonderful news that Telltale Games was being resurrected. It was made clear that all games/employees won't be returning, but there will be some bits and pieces of the old Telltale fueling this revival. Looking for more info on just what to expect from Telltale 2.0? Check out the tidbits below, which come from a Polygon interview with new Telltale head, Jamie Ottilie.

- LCG Entertainment, the company that bought Telltale, will sell some of Telltale's back catalog and work on new games
- the team will work on a few Telltale-associated properties, as well as new licenses
- this Telltale has the back-catalog rights to The Wolf Among Us, Batman, Puzzle Agent, and more
- the team is also looking into getting back some expired licenses
- the team wants to continue some of the stories that Telltale previously worked on
- it seems The Walking Dead won’t be coming back, as that license is now owned by Skybound, which has its own plans
- status of previous Telltale licenses like Borderlands, Game of Thrones, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Minecraft is not known
- Stranger Things rights have reverted back to Netflix
- financial backers include Chris Kingsley (Rebellion), Lyle Hall (Heavy Iron Studios), and Tobias Sjögren (Starbreeze
- the new Telltale Games will be based in Malibu, California
- the team will probably keep the concept of episodes but with different pacing
