Game Freak explains how they went about revealing Pokemon for Sword and Shield

Spreading the word on new Pokemon with each new Pokemon game isn't a simple task. Things have to be coordinated across multiple branches of the Pokemon Co., trailers have to be cut, press releases sent out, and much more. The reveals for Pokemon Sword and Shield certainly followed all those rules, but the rollout was a bit different this time around. In an interview with Game Freak’s Junichi Masuda, we hear a bit more about how the process was approached this time. Check out his comments below, translated by NintendoEverything.

In regards to how we revealed Pokemon this time around, we actually made the decisions with the help of The Pokemon Company’s PR department. We all knew we had something really special on our hands with the way we were doing things.
