Games have come a long way, not just in technology, but public perception as well. Gaming is certainly more widely accepted than years ago, but it still has a way to go to match companies producing TV shows and movies. It's likely this will happen as time continues to pass, but Shigeru Miyamoto is ready for things to shift now.

In an interview at a media event, Miyamoto talked a bit about the perception parents have of children playing games. Miyamoto would love to see Nintendo rival Disney, but he says that can't happen until parents start to accept games more. Check out his full comment on the matter below.

"I've become more interested in creating greater opportunities for a larger audience to enjoy. Many parents want to keep their children from playing video games, but these same parents have no problem allowing them to watch Disney movies. We cannot seriously challenge [Disney] unless parents start feeling comfortable about their children playing Nintendo."

Thanks to Dondom95 for the heads up!
