Dear Reader:
Japanese hardware/software sales for Dec. 23rd to Dec. 29th, 2019
After a week-long delay due to the holiday season, we now have Japanese hardware and software sales data from December 23rd, 2019 to December 29th, 2019. Surprising no one, Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield continue to top the charts, selling 243,476 more units in the final week leading up to Christmas day. Putting that number into perspective, Luigi's Mansion 3 takes the second position in software sales, but only 59,349 copies were sold. Ring Fit Adventure, while still experiencing stock shortages, was the third best selling game, selling 52,521 copies. Impressively, the entire top 10 software list for this particular week is Nintendo Switch titles. In terms of hardware, the Switch continues the pattern of being the best selling console on the market. Between the Switch and Switch Lite, 234,268 consoles were sold.
