Switch sells more in Japan during 2019 than 2018, Nintendo holds 80% of the gaming hardware market in the region
Nintendo dominates Japan
While the Wii U didn't find an audience, the Switch has been the complete opposite. The whole world is enamored with the platform, and are flocking to retail to pick one up. That includes Japan, where the Big N has seen huge success with the Switch. Check out some data on how Nintendo closed out 2019 in Japan below.
