Tsutaya, a major retailer in Japan, has put out some details on the audience picking up Pokemon Sword and Shield. According to their data, a number of players in their 20s were snatching up the games as soon as they launched. Then, as we moved into the holiday season, the audience started to get a bit younger.

Slightly before Christmas and leading through to today, children seem to be the audience really going all in on Pokemon Sword and Shield. Tsutaya says that children seem to gravitate more towards Pokemon Sword over Shield.
