Fans want to know what's up with the gravestone in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

The spooky side of New Horizons

Animal Crossing: New Horizons had a special Direct yesterday, and it brought us 25 minutes of island fun. Well...24+ minutes of fun, and a few seconds of something eerie.

Seen above, eagle-eyed fans spotted a gravestone during the Direct. Nintendo didn't explain or even reference the gravestone, leaving fans to wonder what on earth it's there for. Now people are wondering who is resting under that grave, with guesses ranging from K.K. Slider to Tortimer, and everyone inbetween.

I'm going to throw in my two cents and say it belongs to Wisp. You know, cause it just makes sense!

Clearly, it's the gravesite of the last person to accept Tom Nook's Desert Island Getaway Package

Complete with an inscription that reminds you to keep a stock of medicine on hand in case you get stung by bees.

I think it's just an item from a spooky collection or something and since items can be placed outside, that's why it's there.
