GN Version 5.0

You may have watched the latest Pokémon animated movie, Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back—Evolution, on Netflix, but now you can watch the original movie that inspired the CGI reimagining on Pokémon TV. For the next two weeks, Pokémon: The First Movie is available to view on Pokémon TV, giving you the opportunity to see where Ash and Pikachu's big-screen adventures began.

Pokémon: The First Movie, which was released way back in 1999, tells the story of Mewtwo, a bioengineered Pokémon created from the DNA of Mew, one of the rarest Pokémon of all. After escaping from the lab where it was created, Mewtwo is determined to prove its own superiority. It lures a number of talented Trainers into a Pokémon battle like never before—and of course, Ash and his friends are happy to accept the challenge!

Remember that you can watch Pokémon: The First Movie on Pokemon.com, or you can load up the Pokémon TV mobile app to enjoy this classic movie on the go!
