Fiancé hosts surprise wedding in Animal Crossing: New Horizons after the real-life event was cancelled due to coronavirus concerns

The coronavirus is putting the kibosh on all sorts of public gatherings, and everyone is feeling the impact one way or another. Redditor Ashmush and her fiance certainly felt the impact, as they had to call off their wedding plans. Obviously that's a devastating thing to have happen, but Ashmush's fiance cooked up a secret plan to make up for it.

Without Ashmush knowing, her fiance decided to reach out to friends and have them gather virtually for a special wedding in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Ashmush was brought into New Horizons only to be surprised with a ceremony, friends, and plenty of lovely decorations.

Ashmush said that both her graduation from medical school and wedding were cancelled, which left her feeling deeply saddened. Seeing this virtual wedding surprise is exactly what she needed, making her so happy that she didn't "even have the words to describe how much it meant."
