Nintendo gives tips on how to keep your Joy-Con clean
The joys of cleaning
Nintendo has taken to Twitter in Japan to mention that they've seen an uptick in inquiries about how to clean a Joy-Con. Apparently a number of customers are asking if they can used alcohol-based products to get the job done. Nintendo says doing so is not a good idea, as you can end up discoloring or even deforming the Joy-Con.
Furthermore, Nintendo also says that using disinfecting wipes is a bad idea as well, as they could cause damage to various Joy-Con parts. In Nintendo's recommendation, the best way to keep a Joy-Con clean is with a soft, dry cloth. Obviously that's not going to disinfect the Joy-Con, so I would imagine people will continue to go with something a bit stronger, but keep it to a sprinkling rather than a spray.
