Nintendo planning to add content to Animal Crossing: New Horizons for years

Enjoy your stay!

If you think you'll run out of new things to do in Animal Crossing: New Horizons anytime soon, think again. Nintendo has a plan to keep the game filled with fresh content for years to come.

In an interview with CNET, director Aya Kyogoku was asked about the future of New Horizons, and what's coming down the pipeline. Kyogoku states that there's lots of stuff in the works, and they're looking to keep players engaged for years to come.

We want to make sure that in two years or three years down the road, players will still continue to find new surprises in the game. So we hope to create an update that you can do that with.

Kyogoku was asked if there were any ideas left on the cutting-room floor when making the game, which leads to reaffirmation that new content is coming.

...we want to make sure that users will be able to find new surprises and new gain elements as they play for years down the road, we wanted to make sure that we add something for that.

I already stopped playing when they nerfed bug spawns... I dont time travel so it was my only real source for bells and reason to do Island Tours, but now theyve pretty much got rid of that aspect of the game at least for me. I just list interest. I'm kinda glad because now I can catch up on my other games lol

Bug selling peasants need to learn how to make money in the stalk market, I just made 5 million on Thursday. Sitting pretty.

Or maybe also read I also am upset it kinda nerfed the need for Island Tours too at least for me. Since you know it only has random Villagers, coconuts, your local fruit, bamboo and hybrid plants which all I've already have on my Island. Sure there is that Fish Island and Bell Island I have not run into any other Island except the same 5 or 6 which are Bell, Bamboo, Hybrid, Spiral, Mountain and Fish. If it also gave chances for non local fruits and maybe Villagers you can Invite to Camp while you try to force out an unwanted Villager. Island Tours for Tarantulas was my only drive to do Nook Miles since I have all he has to offer aside from the randomized fences.

Like I said not a big deal was kinda feeling stressed I couldnt tear myself away eventho my friends wanted to play other games. Now I can.

I'll admit, I was worried. Maybe it's because my island has hit a brick wall in progress, while I remember how much more content and upgrades there were in New Leaf. But I just hope they add stuff and a sufficient rate. I'm afraid to commit too much to my island's decorations and layout while I suspect new buildings will need to be installed.

Yeah, the rate is important. This new content isn't really something that will last for a long time, they're relying on the events a bit to keep it going.
