The Switch is getting a big influx of Borderlands later this month with Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition, Borderlands 2, and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel all on the way. That means plenty of newcomers to the franchise will get to meet Lilith, one of six Sirens, a group of women with unbelievable powers. Turns out actress Cate Blanchette is going to become quite familiar with Lilith as well.

According to a report from Variety, Cate Blanchett has signed on to play the role in a Borderlands feature film adaptation coming from Lionsgate. The project is being directed by Eli Roth, with Avi and Ari Arad producing through Arad Prods along with Erik Feig, who is also producing via his Picturestart banner. Craig Mazin, who won an Emmy for writing “Chernobyl,” has written the latest screenplay draft.

The film’s executive producers are Randy Pitchford and Strauss Zelnick, with James Myers and Aaron Edmonds overseeing the project on behalf of Lionsgate. Emmy Yu is overseeing the film for Arad Productions. Lucy Kitada will oversee the project for Picturestart.

Thanks to Mr_Raccoon for the heads up!
