Shantae series hits 3 million+ units sold worldwide

Shantae and the Seven Sirens recently released, and it marks the 5th installment in the Shantae series. What started out as a Game Boy Color game that got passed over due to GBA madness has now become a million-selling franchise. Just how many millions? WayForward's Matt Bozon shared that tidbit in a Comicbook.com interview.

Yes. Shantae fans are awesome. They have this increasing demand that keeps us constantly moving. Honestly, we’ve been so busy that we sometimes forget that she’s having these milestone moments. For example, last year marked 25 years since we created Shantae! And somewhere along the line she broke 3 million copies sold, but, now that I think about it, we didn’t celebrate when it reached 1 million. I guess this...right now...we can celebrate with a TOOT! If fans keep commenting, streaming, posting fanart, Shantae will keep growing and we’ll never get a chance to slow down. And that would be amazing!
