Apex Legends Switch rumor pops up once again

Here we go again!

There has been a rumor floating around about Apex Legends on Switch for awhile now. Nothing has come to light yet, but we might finally get to see a definitive answer at EA's upcoming EA Play 2020 event.

While there's no leaked screenshots or assets to discuss, we do have some talk from VentureBeat's Jeff Grubb. Jeff has been spot-on with a lot of Nintendo-related leaks lately, and here's what he had to say about Apex Legends potentially coming to Switch.

During a recent conference call with investors, EA noted that it was looking more seriously at supporting the Switch. That could take many forms. But at the very least, it should mean Apex Legends making the leap to the Nintendo hybrid home console/handheld. I would like to see EA shadow-drop some older games on the Switch, but who knows how much work that entails. A game like Apex Legends could make money for years, though.

Nothing concrete, but we won't have to wait long to see if Grubb is right. The EA Play 2020 conference airs June 18th, 2020 at 7 PM ET.

That sounds like a straight up guess tho? Not like he's heard anything or whatever, this is pure speculation.
But hey hope it comes true. I'd rather Dead Space on Switch.

I doubt Apex will make the jump. Not unless Nintendo makes a Switch Pro mid-generation upgrade for the Switch first. I can see EA possibly throwing Titanfall 1 and 2 on Switch instead with non-crossplay multiplayer.

Hell Fortnite barely runs on Switch at 30fps which got it removed from general cross-play with Xbox, PS, and PC (60+fps players have the advantage of 30fps players).

If Apex could make the jump to Switch, the graphics would have to take a hit along with FPS cut to 30 which means no cross-play with Xbox, PS, and PC players.

I Dont know what you mean about Switch not being in general crossplay? It has crossplay with everyone except Playstation last I checked? And I'm not even sure that's accurate. I play on the switch and have friends I play with on xbox and PC. When I'm in solo matches I still deal with people with such high building speeds I seriously doubt they're switch/mobile users.

I doubt it. Even if they’re coming to Switch. It’s not going to be good.

Didnt the lead from this game (and Titanfall) openly mock Nintendo numerus times for being underpowered?

IF EA does bring some of its older games to Switch, ones that have skipped Nintendo systems for years, like Battlefield. If Battlefield comes to Switch and it's a hit. Then I would expect to hear something about Call of Duty coming to Switch too.

apex legends card game i just can feel it lol
