GN Version 5.0

Just a few weeks back, Koei Tecmo posted a survey on Twitter that asked fans what changes they'd like to see if Monster Rancher 2 were to come to modern platforms. Many took this as a sign that the title was already in the works, and an announcement was coming soon. Those who assumed that were correct.

Koei Tecmo has officially revealed Monster Rancher 2 for Switch, and it'll release in Japan sometime in Fall 2020. Just like the previous Monster Rancher, this will be an enhanced port featuring new elements and improvements. Monster Rancher 2 includes over 400 monsters, and originally launched on PS1 back in 1999.

Monster Rancher 2 will cost 2,564 yen, and if you have save data for Monster Rancher 1, you can reproduce slates from that game. Monster Rancher 2 will also include the PocketStation mini-game.
