Last we heard about the Classic Tetris World Championship 2020 was that things were still being figured out. The team wasn't sure what they'd be doing while the world faces a pandemic, but they wanted to move things forward somehow. Now those details have been cemented, and the action will continue online.

The Classic Tetris World Championship 2020 is going to take place online, where 64 players will compete over the course of a two-month period. There will be eight separate 8-seed double elimination tournament brackets to follow, and registration will open up on September 1st, 2020. Players have until October 16th to get their name in the running, and then the qualifying round will run from October 22nd to 25th, 2020. Finally, the Main Event will begin on Sunday, December 6th, 2020.
