Comparing Paper Mario: The Origami King's launch sales in Japan to other Paper Mario games

Paper Mario: The Origami King hasn't been out very long, but we do have the first-week sales data for Japan. We shared those numbers a few days back, but how does the total compare to previous Paper Mario entries in Japan? Check out the table below to see.

It's obviously important to note that these sales only account for physical copies. We have no idea how many units Paper Mario: The Origami King sold digitally in Japan for its first week. That said, you can see that Origami King's numbers should be right around where the rest of the series debuted. If I had to guess, I'd say it probably beat out the original Paper Mario, and came close to Sticker Star.
