Rocket League has been around since 2015 and remained popular ever since, but the game is going through a major rebirth right now. Psyonix has moved the game from a paid title to free-to-play, and the move is already paying off.

Just one day after going free-to-play, Pysonix has confirmed that Rocket League managed to hit 1 million concurrent players. That's players across all platforms, Switch included. Looks like the free-to-play shake-up has lead to lapsed fans coming in, and a whole new wave of players as well.
