Pokemon GO's collab with McDonald's Japan is coming to an end

Without any advance warning or explanation at all, McDonald's Japan has announced that their Pokemon GO collab is wrapping up on Oct. 16th, 2020. For roughly 4 years now, 2,500 McDonald’s locations doubled as PokéStops, while another 400 were Pokémon Gyms. That's all coming to an end in just a matter of hours. McDonald's Japan did thank players for visiting their locations and having some Pokemon GO fun, but that's about all they said. Makes you wonder why things are coming to such an abrupt end.
