GN Version 5.0

Nintendo is doubling down on the Halloween action with another feature that looks at some of the spooky content you can enjoy on Switch today. Check out Nintendo's suggestions for the Halloween season below.

The season of scares is well and truly here, but there’s no need to hide behind the sofa! Settle down with your Nintendo Switch this Halloween and enjoy a whole (g)host of entertainment with family and friends that’ll put smiles on faces and send shivers down your spine!

Get involved in frightening festivities in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Jack, the czar of Halloween, is coming to your island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons!

Preparations for the big night are already underway, with Nook’s Cranny selling candy and the Able Sisters offering up all kinds of terrifying outfits. Try growing some pumpkins and use them to craft creepy items that are sure to frighten up the place.

Then, on Halloween night, drop by the plaza outside Resident Services from 17:00 until midnight (local time) to greet Jack and join the festivities. Why not dress up, invite some friends over to your island and enjoy Halloween together? If you share candy with your island residents, you might get some nice treats…or even a few tricks!

Team Trick takes on Team Treat in Splatoon 2

The Splatoween spirit is in the air with the resurrection of this spook-tacular Splatoon 2 Splatfest!

What will you pick: trick or treat? Choose a side in-game, then jump online* and battle it out between 02:00 (UK time) on Friday October 30th and 22:00 (UK time) on Sunday November 1st. Whoever wins, it’s sure to be a frighteningly fun time for everyone.

You can also grab ghoulish gear to use while you play**! Look for the ‘Free download! Celebrate Splatoween with this spooky in-game gear’ article in the Squid Research Lab Bulletin (Splatoon 2) Switch News Channel through your Nintendo Switch console. Then just launch the game via the button at the bottom of the article to claim the Kyonshi Hat, Li'l Devil Horns, Hockey Mask and Anglerfish Mask.

Be filled with dread by Dynamax Pokémon in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield

Max Raid Battles in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield are a whole lot creepier right now…

Until 01:00 (UK time) on Sunday November 1st, you’ll find that Ghost-type Pokémon Gengar, Drifblim, Dusknoir, as well as Dark-type Pokémon Hydreigon, Grimmsnarl and Morpeko will appear more frequently in Max Raid Battles.

To get involved, select Mystery Gift in the game menu and choose ‘Get the Wild Area News’*. Then, if you see a pillar of light shining from a Pokémon den, interact with it for an opportunity to battle one of these creepy Dynamax Pokémon!

Have a fright to remember in Luigi’s Mansion 3

Take a trip to a haunted hotel and join the cowardly hero Luigi on a ghostly – and gooey – quest in Luigi’s Mansion 3.

Brave the Last Resort's otherworldly floors alone or have another player join your ghost hunt as the squishy sidekick, Gooigi. You can even share the scare with some online multiplayer ghost-hunting in the Scarescraper*, or take on up to seven other players on one Nintendo Switch console in the ScreamPark***!
