Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit is a pretty sophisticated piece of tech, and it took years for Nintendo and Velan Studios to make things work. Fans are enjoying the unique experience right now, but it most likely won't be the end of Nintendo's outside-the-box efforts. Both Velan Studios and Nintendo talked to CNet about the future of this tech, and you can find their statements below.

"The breakthrough technology is that we've fundamentally decoupled the camera and sensors from the host device (the Nintendo Switch system), which unlocks all sorts of new possibilities. It's a rich new paradigm to explore in the future!" - Velan Studios' Karthik Bala

"I believe that in Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit, it's possible to see the Nintendo philosophy of developing new, unique integrated hardware-software entertainment." - Nintendo's Yosuke Tamori
