Paper Mario: The Origami King is off to a fantastic start for the Paper Mario franchise, having sold 2.82 million units worldwide in less than 3 months. That actually works out to be a new record for the Paper Mario franchise, selling faster than any other installment in the franchise. The previous record-holder was Super Paper Mario, which hit 2.28 million units sold in roughly a year.
Now will it become the best-selling Paper Mario game? Again, it'll have to top Super Paper Mario to make that happen. That title sits at 4.23 million units sold in its lifetime. Seems like The Origami King is well on its way.
