Modder uses Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity to rebuild Hyrule Castle in Zelda: Breath of the Wild

This old castle

Hyrule Castle was left in shambles in Zelda: Breath of the Wild, but Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity gives a look at the castle in all its glory 100 years prior. That wasn't good enough for one modder, as they wanted to see what the castle would look like in Breath of the Wild. That's why they set to work bringing over assets from Age of Calamity into Breath of the Wild. While the project isn't complete, you can see the progress they've made in the videos above and below.

That's cool. Everything was a wreck in BOTW, it would be nice if there were some complete buildings in the sequel. But then I do like the darker atmosphere in the trailer, and that wouldn't be in keeping with the tone. Though, they could do a dark and light world.

If they're reusing the same map it could be interesting if they made a big sidequest around rebuilding locations on the map. As in a way that was kinda implied they were doing by the end (reuniting the kingdom itself).

It cracks me up that Link is carrying a Nokia phone.

Age of Calamity keeps on giving!

If anyone wants to discuss theories (spoiler warning) I started a forum thread https://gonintendo.com/topics/373473-spoilers-hyrule-warriors-age-of-calamity
