Roger Craig Smith announces he will no longer be voicing Sonic the Hedgehog

You'll be missed, Roger!

After 10 years of providing the voice for Sonic the Hedgehog, Roger Craig Smith has taken to Twitter to reveal that he'll no longer be handling the role. No reason for his departure was given, but it's clear SEGA feels it's time to head in a different direction. Thanks to Mr. Smith for 10 great years in the role!

Thanks to Andreslop24, WolfStarSonic, and MangoJackie93 for the heads up!

Time to bring back Urkel, baby!

If only Larry King was still around to fill in. Sad

Seriously though, I wonder if Ben Schwartz would do it since he's the voice in the movie(s) now. Or bring back Jaleel White from the old cartoons?

I was wondering if it could be Ben Schwartz too. His performance in the movie seems to be pretty well-liked, and he’s done a lot of voice acting for cartoons and stuff so it’s not inconceivable that he could become the new regular voice of Sonic. It would be kind of like how Matthew Lilliard became the main voice of Shaggy after first playing him in the live action Scooby-Doo movie.

Ryan or Jason confirmed?
