DOOM Eternal - Screens, art, and tons of new gameplay details

DOOM Eternal got a full-on reveal today at Quakecon, and with it came a bunch of new details. We've got screens and art above, and a breakdown of everything that was revealed during the stage presentation below.

- a new enemy looks like the Doom Slayer, but more details weren't shared
- updated shotgun includes a grappling hook that pulls you toward enemies
- you now have a wrist-mounted blade
- players can now take control of demons and “invade” the campaign of other players
- you can also join up with other demons and group hunt Doom Slayers online
- this feature can be turned off if you'd like
- there's an area in the game that looks somewhat like heaven
- the Doom Slayer also has a red, glowing energy sword
- you also have a grenade launcher/flamethrower attachment
- Combat Shotgun has a full automatic alt fire mode
- new weapon, the Ballista, shoots explosive bolts that can pin demons
- old-school Plasma Gun is back
- you can now dash and can swing from poles
- non-demonized human npcs will be present
- Earth and Phobos are two of many locations you can visit
- new glory kills and demons
- reimagined demons from the last game and from Classic Doom
- "Destructible demons": demons will visually start losing bits of flesh and stuff as they take damage
- game will have a big focus on lore
- runs on idTech 7
