Shawarmageddon begins!

Swords and Soldiers 2 Shawarmageddon is a strategic multiplayer lane defense game where Vikings face off against Persian and Demon armies in ferocious tug of war battles. Push the enemies back and smash their base with a legion of distinct units, spells and structures. Swords and Soldiers 2 Shawarmageddon was originally released for Wii UTM. After receiving great reviews from critics and players alike, Ronimo Games are bringing an enhanced version to new platforms. Game Designer and Co-founder Jasper Koning said: “ We’re very excited to bring the game to PC and PS4 players and show off the all new multiplayer, a polished new UI for each platform, and a veritable Viking horde of other improvements!”

To celebrate the launch, there will be week one deals! Awesomenauts players on Steam also have something special in store - meet Helgø Scoop, the Viking that has traveled the nine realms all by himself! Helgø will be available to every Awesomenauts player who also owns a copy of Shawarmageddon!

Swords, Soldiers and Shawarmageddon?

Each faction has access to a distinct roster of troops, magical spells and structures, with over 50 units to choose from. From Viking axe-throwers and carpet-riding Persians to skeleton-summoning crypts and polymorphic spells that turn your units into harmless sheep, the variety is extensive! Play with all of these in the 10 hour single-player campaign which follows Viking chief Redbeard as he journeys through tundras, forests, deserts and even the pits of the netherworld itself to prevent the imminent Shawarmageddon!

Once you have honed your skills in the campaign, fight your friends or other warlords around the world in online multiplayer or split-screen mode! Pick one of the three armies or build your own with the Custom Army mode, which allows you to mix and match units from any of the factions (plus a few extra). You can even test strategies in skirmishes against the AI while you‘re waiting to be matched with an online opponent - when an opponent is found, your skirmish game will be paused while you battle it out. Once your online match has concluded, you’ll be returned to where you left off! There are also numerous minigames for you to enjoy while you queue.

The Nintendo Switch version is in production and will be released in Q1 2019! The Wii U version was very popular, and Ronimo Games is looking forward to bringing Swords and Soldiers 2 Shawarmageddon to Nintendo Switch - with split screen local multiplayer on top of everything else!
