Dear Reader:
Realistic Pokemon artist shares some concept art he worked on for Detective Pikachu, including a push for Danny DeVito
So it's been a couple weeks since Detective Pikachu came out. What better way to start posting my work than the man himself. I just want it to be known that I definitely tried pushing a Danny Devito angle at one point. I worked on this project for 7 months, so expect more soon. pic.twitter.com/3Tu9jiMBCX

This was a very early pass at showing different emotions Pikachu would have. I was very into the idea of Pikachu having bald cheeks to conduct the lightning but admittedly I don't think it would have worked nearly as well as the final design. pic.twitter.com/TnPpDBxUuX

RJ Palmer is the artist who worked on the 'realistic Pokemon' art series that landed him a job on the Detective Pikachu movie. Today Mr. Palmer has shared some concept art that he worked on for the film, including a look at what Danny DeVito might have looked like in the role of Detective Pikachu. I guess there really was a point in time when at least some people involved really wanted Mr. DeVito in the role!
