Here is a cool one from the pile I've been scanning. This ad is all about Nintendo's NES soft launch in NYC. The focus is completely on ROB, then named Nintendo Video Robot. There's a great look at a prototype NES, which is unnamed here and looks to be using Famicom carts. pic.twitter.com/UF1RDNZBZd

You may have seen the flyer above, but not in this quality. Friend of the site Phil Summers has gone through the painstaking process of scanning and cleaning up this promo flyer for the NES/R.O.B. from all the way back in 1985. This was before the NES' design was locked in, and it wasn't even being called an NES. The same goes for R.O.B., who was billed as the Nintendo Video Robot.
