Dear Reader:
Voice actor for Francis York Morgan shares new details on Deadly Premonition 2
Deadly Premonitions 2 is in the works, and it's going to be Switch-exclusive. We haven't heard much of anything about the game since it's original reveal, but thankfully a few new details have come in via an interview. Jeff Kramer, the voice actor for Francis York Morgan, has let loose with the following info.
- Swery contacted him on Facebook a few years age to let him know a sequel was in the works
- Kramer went to LA to record voice acting last year
- the game was supposed to be announced sometime around GDC and Kramer was supposed to announce it with Swery
- there are multiple versions of York in the game
- Kramer recorded his lines for the original game years before release
- he had to re-record around half of his lines when the game was reworked from Rainy Woods to Deadly Premonition
- this reworking was due to running into issues with the producers of Twin Peaks
- Kramer doesn't recall many major story changes to the game when the rework was done
- Kramer thinks the sequel is on a whole new level, and says Swery has really outdone himself
- communication between Kramer and Swery was tough for the first game due to the language barrier
- for the second game, communication was much easier, as Swery's English has improved a lot
- York still talks about different movies and directors in the sequel
- Kramer thinks the sequel is much more plot heavy and singularly focused on the main story
- Kramer didn't record too many lines this time around
- Kramer thought he knew what was going on when he recorded his lines story-wise, but ended up being dead wrong
- you go back and forth between two different worlds and timelines in the sequel
- when recording for the first game, Kramer remembers Swery always showing up in rented american muscle cars
- the game is not just "let's send York on a different mission," as Swery really went about things differently
- Kramer is up for a remake/remaster of the original
