Wii are officially out of ideas

Everyone is going absolutely insane over Iwata’s comments from earlier today. I can’t believe there has been such an uproar over this statement…

Wii Music completes what Miyamoto wrote in his proposal when he came up with the idea for the Wii. He was saying that he needs to think up more ideas now. - Satoru Iwata

Really, is this something worth going crazy over? There is a developmental process, and it begins with some ideas. Miyamoto achieved his initial goal, and now has to start that process over again. This doesn’t mean that Nintendo is out of game ideas, or that there are no more original ideas coming. There are titles in the works right now that have Miyamoto’s thumb print, as well as other Nintendo games that Miyamoto is just overseeing. You know what else this probably means? Miyamoto will be focusing on the core titles that are in the works, and have been in the works for awhile. Is this something to complaint about?
