How the Wii was born

Nintendo has many reasons as to why they are heading in the direction of the Wii. On the harsh business side of things, Nintendo consoles have continually sold less units than their previous installment (ignore the handheld market). Development costs for games is quickly sky-rocketing, making it very hard to get new gaming experiences on the market. The game industry is in a slump, and if new experiences/players aren’t brought in, we could see a serious issue in the near future. Those are just a handful of reasons why Nintendo chose the path they did with the Wii.

DevilsRejection sent me an article which discusses, in detail, how the Wii came to be. It is a pretty crazy thought actually…a couple years back we had no idea what was in store for us as Nintendo fans. Now here we sit, less than two months from Wii launch (in US), ready to experience a Nintendo console like none other. Click on over to see how it all started.
