Mortal Kombat 1 is the latest in a line of ambitious Switch ports that aim to take games from more powerful hardware and get them running on Nintendo’s console. Naturally, some sacrifices will have to be made to ensure the game plays smoothly, but just how big a difference is it? If you’re looking for an in-depth graphics comparison for the game, ElAnalistaDeBits has shared one.

This is a direct comparison showing Mortal Kombat 1 running on Switch, Steam Deck, XBox Series X, and PS5. The Switch version of the game apparently runs in 900p and ~60fps while docked and 720p in handheld mode, but that resolution is dynamic, which means it could drop to as low as 640p (docked) or 480p (handheld). Of course, there are also adjustments to the game’s textures, lightings, crowd levels, and many other graphical aspects.

Are the trade-offs of the Switch version worth it? Check out the videos in this post to see for yourself exactly where the differences lie.
