UPDATE: We’re sad to say that this listing turned out to be an error by the Brazilian ratings board. They accidentally attached the Switch verbiage to Red Dead Redemption 2 when they meant to add that information to the original Red Dead Redemption listing.

We often find out about games coming to Switch through game ratings/classification boards. It’s always exciting when this happens, as the news comes out ahead of the publisher/developer revealing their plans. This seems to be happening more in recent years, and today brings us yet another example.

The ratings classification board in Brazil has just been updated, and it’s showing a rather surprising bit of news. According to their listings, Red Dead Redemption 2 is making its way to Switch, as the original listing for the game’s PS4/XB1 release from 2018 has now been updated with a mention of Switch.

The original Red Dead Redemption just came to Switch a few weeks back, and it shot straight to the top of the eShop charts. Even at a premium price, this showed that Switch owners are more than willing to jump in on big-name games that never made their way to Nintendo platforms. If this Red Dead Redemption 2 listing ends up being the real deal, you can bet Switch owners will flock to this release in even bigger numbers.

I can't imagine this running well unless it's a cloud version. Would still be nice for switch owners who don't have another way to play though. Rat Hats for everyone!

Cloud games do not receive classification here in Brazil, only physical media to be sold in stores can be classified here.
If it is real, we will probably see an announcement in the February 2024 Direct.

For those who can't imagine it working, just imagine The Witcher 3, only now using new technologies like No Man's Sky: ECHOES update that added AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 2 (FSR2)
